As our messages toolbar does not show in all browsers, there is a standalone WYSIWYG What You See Is What You Geteditor that you can use instead HERE.

To use it, just type into the message box in the same way that you used to here at WGT. I think all the icons we had are there, plus a few more, but not the video icon.

Posting videos can be done this way...

    [view:***video URL goes here***:444]

This can be typed (don't copy and paste the above) straight into your message.
The 444 value can be changed to adjust the video size, but 444 fills the forum width nicely. A value of about 240 is a good size for wall posts and 550 is about the most you can squeeze into a blog post.

When you have finished your message, click the HTML button (underneath the Paragraph box) to open the HTML source window, copy everything in the HTML source window, then paste it into your message box here.

If you need to edit one of your posts here at WGT, do the following...

1.) Click the edit button at the bottom of your post.
2.) Copy everything in the edit message window.
3.) Go to the standalone WYSIWYG editor and click the HTML button to open the HTML source editor window.
4.) Paste in your copied WGT post then click UPDATE at the bottom of the HTML source editor.
5.) You'll now see your post in the WYSIWYG editor where you can edit it.
6.) Once edited, click the HTML button again and copy everything in the HTML window.
7.) Then paste it back into your message at WGT.
    8.) Done!

    25th Oct 2017:
If you don't want to use the standalone WYSIWYG editor. You could try starting your post with this...

    <p style="white-space:pre-wrap">
...after that, type out your message as usual. There's no need to put in any funny HTML stuff as you can make new lines or new paragraphs by hitting enter once or twice, and you can put spaces in as you would before, by hitting the spacebar. This formatting will all be preserved when you post your message, so make sure you end your post with the closing </p> tag, not forgetting the forward slash in it.

    Disable Your Mouse Scroll Wheel

For disabling your mousewheel in the game only, see HERE.

If you are concerned about changing clubs in the game by accidently moving the mouse wheel, you can disable it.

If you have a fancy mouse on your system, you may be able to disable the mouse wheel (vertical scrolling) in the mouse settings from the control panel or via its own software.

You can also disable the mouse wheel by changing a setting in your computer's registry. Sounds scary I know, but you only have to create two very small notepad files to achieve this. One to disable the wheel and another to re-enable it.

It is not necessary to manually change entries in the registry yourself, the notepad files will do this for you.

Ask me if you want full details of how to do this.

Another way to do it is by using javascript.

    1. Open the developer tools in the game client by making sure the game client is the active window, then press the F12 key on your keyboard. If this does nothing, click in the address bar of the game client window then press F12 again.
    2. Click the console tab in the developer tools window, and type the following at the cursor...
      window‍.onwheel = function(){return false}
...then press enter on your keyboard.
    3. Close the developer tools by clicking the close button [X].
    4. Re-enabling the mouse wheel involves following steps 1 and 2 above, but typing this into the console instead...
      window‍.onwheel = function(){return true}
...then press enter on your keyboard.
    5. Close the developer tools by clicking the close button [X].

    IMPORTANT!

Do not copy the javascript (in bold in steps 2 & 4 above) for easy pasting into your browsers dev tools console, it will not work. WGT has some kind of security thing going on which stops anything that looks like a javascript object method or object property, from being posted to the forum. In order to get round this I have to put invisible characters into the code I want to show you so that it will be postable, and those invisible characters will stop it from working if you copy and paste it into the console.

    ScottHope:

The aim marker and what not to do.

Interesting. Thanks for not only bringing it up, but taking the time to "show" it, along with the other great video tips.

Cheers Jay, it might just be me that occasionally moves the marker so far that when I make my shot it's actually out of view, but I thought I'd be a good samaritan an point it out to y'all.  : )

I have Maxthon 3 and prevent it from updating by disabling the update file. Maxthon 4 may also use this file but I'm not sure.

The file is called MxUp.exe and can be found here, (assuming Maxthon is installed on your C drive)...
    C โ‹™
    Program Files
    or
    Program Files (x86)
    โ‹™ Maxthon3 [or Maxthon4 if you have that ] โ‹™ Bin โ‹™ MxUp.exe

The file can be disabled by renaming the extension. This way you can prevent it from running and also still find it should you ever need to re-enable it.

Renaming the extension is simply a case of replacing the .exe with something else, .unused for example.

You may get a warning when you do this, advising you that the file may become unusable if you change the extension name, but as this is what you want, you can ignore the warning.

IMPORTANT : If you do not see the filename extensions when viewing your files in Windows explorer, you will have to change the folder options.

Open your Control Panel and click on Appearance and Personalization, then click on Folder Options. In the Folder Options dialogue box click on the View tab. In the window, Uncheck the Hide Extensions For Known File Types option, then click OK.

Previous versions of Maxthon can be found HERE or HERE.

Another way to stop Maxthon updating is to disable the scheduled running of the MxUp file.

It is not necessary to both rename and disable the scheduled running of the MxUp file. Doing either one will suffice.

Although this video shows how to stop Chrome from updating, the procedure for Maxthon is the same. You just have to look for the Maxthon task in the scheduler.

1). Locate the Maxthon task in the scheduler main panel.
2). Right click on it and select Disable from the context menu.
3). This shows the program that the scheduled task is set to run. If you click on the image to view it full size, you will see that it is the MxUp.exe file.

    PICTURE ICONS
    • Depending on your set-up and browser......some, all or none of these icons may appear.
    • If you copy and paste any of them they will be smaller than shown here.
    • In the box below, drag your cursor across any image to select it, then right click and select COPY, or press CTRL + C, then you can paste it where you want.
    • Here is a post showing you how to enlarge text/icons using BB code (Bulletin Board). This is easy to do.
