I think we're getting our zeros mixed up. The Wall Street Journal says 106,000,000 (106 million,) the New York Times says 95 million. If you're an advertiser talking to CBS it's probably higher than that!  (They're probably talking about U.S. viewership.) Worldwide would be that 151 mil.

I would believe it if there was one less zero in the soccer viewership, as in 18.5 million, not 185 million. (Was it even televised here?)

Sorry about that i got all musk up, here's what wikipedia says there was a record breaking 151.6 million tv audience for the 2009 super bowl. On the same weekend  or any other weekend in the EPL the top game on  tv average about 180 million viewers. my bad guys, thats the thing about drugs when they wear off things get strange again.

For those still living in a bubble, the EPL, is braodcasted to all but about 20 countries in the world, the USA shows at least 5 games a week during the season. My numbers might have been wrong but you get the idea.

While its true the USA did beat England 1-0 in the 1950 world cup, i would like to point out Britain was still under food rationing from the WW11 till 1954. I am sure we would have done better had our player been feed before the game..........lol.

But I also understand that the U.S. team was training in underground civil air defense bunkers, 10' X 10', at the time.  So their leg muscles were totally atrophied.

That's probably why it was only 1-0

Somebody needs to check on seve. Make sure he's not on a bridge somewhere contemplating a header after the shock of a 1-0 loss.

Hard to believe USA almost losing to a team wearing Charlie Brown shirts.
