Is there a thread around with the changes between tiers?

I think it's the following but would like confirmation.

Hack - easy tees, standard greens

Amateur - easy tees, fast greens

Pro - medium tees, fast greens

Tour Pro - medium tees, very fast greens

Master - hard tees, very fast greens

Tour Master - hard tees, tournament greens

Legend - championship tees, legend tournament greens

    Edited to update.

Any other changes? In theory moving from Tour Pro to Master shouldn't affect my scores too much?

I've read a few threads and it sounds like it will affect my scores...a lot!

Fortunately I got a load of credits from one of the offers and upgraded my driver and putter at the weekend so I might just be ok...

I think hack is standard, amateur is fast, Pro is fast, Tour Pro is very fast, Master is very fast, I know Tour Master is tournament, and Legend is also called tournament, but Legend tournament greens are faster than TM tournament greens. All your tees mentioned are correct.

Was basically trying to figure out what's changed from Tour Pro to Master apart from the tees. The driver I bought hits to about the same place as my old driver off the new tees so it's just whether or not putting is now harder.

Played a couple of 9 hole games 1 and 2 under par. I had 100% GIR on both but missed a load of putts. It felt harder to read the breaks. Probably just in my head...

I've edited that with the changes you said and it makes a lot of sense. You either move up a tee box or green speed with every tier.

Also, IIRC, the winds get higher and the pins get harder as you tier up. I have no idea how much at what tier though :-/

The winds definitely have more effect. The crosswinds are taking the ball much further and I'm having to aim further left/right to compensate.

    I didn't break par for a week..

But the secret formula to avg is this.

Once you reach a certain number of rounds, if you average is below the benchmark set my WGT, then you will move up tiers. if NOT, then this will happen

Every round will NOT be added to your overall average.... Only the best

so in example, as a tour master, (you need 50 ranked rounds under 61 avg) you have 10 scores of 30, 10 scores of 29, 10 scores of 31, 26 rounds of 32, 3 rounds of 35, and 1 round of 37... it would look like this...

    29 x 2 (converted to 18 hole scores) is 58

    so... 58 x 10 = 580

    30x 3 = 60 x 10 = 600

    31 x 2 = 62 x 10 = 620

    32 x 2 = 64 x 16 = 1024

    35 x 2 = 70 x 3 = 210

    37 x 2 = 74

add all the totals together and divide by 50

    580 +  600  + 620 + 1024 + 210 + 74 = 3108 / 50 = 62.16

so your average at that point is 62.16

lets say you shoot 32, which =s 64. not below your average, but you have to remove the highest score and put the new one in.

so the NEW totals look like this

    580 +  600  + 620 + 1024 + 210 + 74 = 3108 + 64 = 3,172 - 74 = 3,098 / 50 = 61.96

So even though you didn't shoot under your average, it still went down...

In conclusion, the minimum number of ranked rounds to reach a new tier is also the maximum amount of rounds used to calculate you average...

Note: The change will be more drastic if you have more high scores than low scores...

    Hope this helps...

Don't know what all the fuss is about moving to Master ;)

    St George's - 70

    Kiawah - 70

    St Andrew's - 67

    Oakmont - 71

And that's with missing a load of putts...

    partime101:

i have a 65.80 average still aa tour pro and explain ty

You don't have the neccessary no. of ranked rounds as a TP yet to advance.

BTW, you play very well on KIA and STA. May I suggest that you check out the other courses, too, before tiering up to the longer tees?

For me, it's the diversity of courses making for the fun!
