Wow I just played 2 quick rounds in "Welcome to The Bear Trap" WGT Tourney...It is set up from Champ tee's, 13 speed greens and High winds (So basically at it's toughest) and I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed!!

The course is waaay to easy! Very short par 5's ...I had many wedge's into the 4's as well ...I shot a 58 and 59 and with a few rounds I'm sure a mid 50's round will be the norm.

The course has water everywhere but most of it is not in play... IMHO we got another  "Wolf Creek" or Cabo course...

There are a few greens if you hit bad approaches you will end up with very difficult putts but you need to hit really bad approaches !!

If ya don't agree look at these scores (And the Tourney JUST started)

    1 Tim14121989  Teachers Who Would Rather Golf 100 51
    2 Young46  C0BRA KAI 131 52
    2 SHALEO83  Southern England Links 107 52
    2 gerhardj1  LFG Country Club 121 52
    5 jucamar  Drive Home CC 121 53
    5 pjbhai  The Penalty Box 106 53
    7 JSmithers  C0BRA KAI 120 54
    7 balanggg  Robs rebels 163

    54

18 is a Great hole good risk reward par 5

on a good note I guess we should cherish WGT putting out ANY New course!!

Agreed. Lovely course but way too easy. Within 2 hours of the bear trap tourney being published, 54s and 53s being posted at Champ level. I hit 57 and 56 - which ain't normal for me in these tourneys. Guess it's the same for everyone tho, and to echo - new tracks always welcomed.

    PGA National..feat the Bear Trap!!

more like a teddy bears picnic...

Nice on the eye and your scorecard ,,

its more for sight-seeing and tourism..  a SHORT but pleasant trip through the palm trees..

seriously tho.. I really like it..

just the other day..my partner and I were held up by a celebrity match playing the 15th   .. turned out to be a very famous 4ball from my childhood..

Paddington, Rupert, Fozzie & Yogi,..(on the bag was Kermit n Boo Boo )

,,up ahead on the 16th ,,Goldilocks & the 3 Bears...

17th hole..,,,Bungle, Baloo, Kung Foo Panda & Winnie the Poo  ...

so who cares if its short and lacks yardage..

...im ecstatic , smitten.. caught in a trap..

    Amazing Golf Course... x

Lack of yardage doesn’t make a course easy. The real issue is this: PGA National’s greens are too benign. It’s the second coming of Bethpage. Of course TCs are going to eat it alive.

I would like to see Wolf Creek and Chambers Bay removed from the game. I have been playing WGT for many years now, and I have yet to play anyone who actually likes those two courses.

Time to get some more European courses featured in the game, too much focus on the USA venues IMHO.
