Hopes and Perspectives a/k/a as OMG!!

Scott has created 76 links on his LINKS section of his profile page. I was told, in another thread, that it took, approximately, 6.5 weeks for each link.

    That is 76 links @ 6.5 weeks per link  = 494 weeks

    494 weeks x 7 = 3,458 days         494 weeks / 52 = 9.5 years

Now, lets put that into perspective.

An average person who is simply going about their daily lives takes 3,000-4,000 steps every day, so most people walk about two miles every day without even thinking about it. Some jobs are more active than others, with mail carriers walking an average of more than 7.5 miles every day!

An average person, who is walking in their free time rather than at work, walks at a pace of just over 3 miles per hour. By simple math, you might conclude that the average person, walking at a comfortable pace, might walk as many as 25 miles in a day.

However, that isn’t true in practice. In reality, the average, untrained person, walking over long distances, encounters difficulties that we wouldn’t expect by simply doing the math. In real life, the walking shoes that may be comfortable for walks of 5-6 miles can become uncomfortable over long distances. An average, untrained person might develop sore feet, sort legs, or even blisters that may make long walks painful or impossible.

So, let us say that Scott walks an average of 6 miles per day.

    3,458 days @ 6 miles per day

So, during the 9.5 years, Scott would have walked 20,748 miles.

Britain from is widest points is 300 miles.

USA from widest point is 2,800 miles.

The earth’s circumference is 24,901.55 miles at the equator.

Therefore, Scott only needs another 4,153 miles and he would have walked around the globe. So, all he needs to do is to create an additional 15.1408959537 links. Let’s Go Scott, get to work!!
