How do you advance from amateur status?

    Hi Pelo,

In any game you play that is "ranked",this means your score for that game is used to make up your average score. As your average goes down(thats a good thing btw) so you advance through the tiers.

I think it maybe has something to do with your level as well, but thats just a maybe-I asked all of this just three weeks ago,and thats the only reason I know.

Pelo, Chuck here, you need to play stroke play RANKED rounds. Play the 9 holes at St Andy or Kiawah back 9. Match play or closest to the hole rounds do not count and neither do practice rounds. Play 9 holes and try to get par or better and you will move up quickly.
