Now I understand that if there is a TRUE obstruction, such as a hill or you're too low in a bunker, etc. that it's not realistic to make the flag visible.  BUT, since the intent of the game is realistic I think that something should be done to make the flags visible anytime that there is a clear line of sight.  Before anyone says changing the flags is unrealistic, a limp flag laying against the stick is ALSO unrealistic in the 30+ mph winds at St Andrews.  How many 400 + yd par 4's & par 5's have we all stood on and can still see that flag moving i the wind if the hole is straight away?  There are even par 3's on this game that you can't see the flag on at times.

So, suggestion is to do something to make them visible, make them larger from fairway views, artificially over lay it somehow, or heck even a crosshair or something that stays in place when you move your aim marker.

    Thanks!

Maybe Viagra for a limp flag?

The default setting on the game options has flag animation turned off, hence the limpness. You can go to Game Options, under the Advanced tab and change the setting.

The flag visibility is also directly related to the "flash quality" setting in options. Set on "low", the flag is just about invisible 10ft. away.

The trade off for turning the "flag animation" on, and setting "flash quality" to high, is slow loading etc., depending on your system. You`ll need to find a "happy medium". GL

Yep I have been meaning to post about this for quite some time.

I had to turn my Flash quality down to get better performance and noticed right away that the FLAG of all things is one of the most noticeable details or should I say UNnoticeable differences.

It would be nice if WGT could address this as it really is invisible even on the MEDIUM setting nevermind the low.

this may sound like a goofy question ,  but       why do  you need to see the flag,  the game defaults a kinda big  arrow   right on it  on every shot.     guess I just never noticed the unoticable flag lol

Maybe if you moved that marker from time to time in order to adjust for wind it would improve your scores.  The distance that you see on a zoom view is different from the distance you see from your golfer.  It's not an issue on every hole, just certain lies on certain holes the flag becomes completely invisible.  I haven't tried changing back to best resolution yet on one of those holes so I'm not sure if it's a low res problem only.

I have all the animations maxed out and the Flash quality the highest. I'm lucky, I guess, the game runs fine for me.

I have a technical question on the flags. With flag animations turned on and the flag blowing away, is the direction of the flag dependable enough to use as the wind direction or is it just a generic movement?

I have always had trouble understanding the wind direction once you get off the tee. There's a bunch of discussion about it and answers abound but the flag waving is empirical. Does it accurately depict the wind direction and relative strength?
