Custom Avatars-this is a great idea but $2,000 --Absolutely insane---WGT has no idea of how to price items in the Pro Shop to resemble real golf. eg. a dozen Golf Balls Nike-costs more than a Cleveland Wedge?? Absurd-go to a discount Golf Shop and buy a dozen nike Blacks $33-$42 or 400 credits for a dozen--WGT price 1,800 credits. Wedge Pro Shop- $110--- wgt 800 credits.  You guys or so off.  Do you not have anyone in the WGT organization that plays Golf--outdoors?

if people would quit paying these outrageous prices they would have to lower them . everyone go back to the walmart rocks for a month , hurt them where it hurts, the bottom line . Bet it won't happen , people are to competitive and have to try and be the best so complain all you want it won't change unless you are willing to . Going back to my corner now

    Um...500,000 Credits = $50,000

    Lisa03:

so then, WGT price is $18

    Lisa03:
Wedge Pro Shop- $110--- wgt 800 credits

    $8

    40$ is 4.000 cr, not 400.

    Nope-yes! 500,000 credits is $5, 000  Correction-

My point is that the prices are not proportioned--I'm right on that point eg

    Cleveland CG16 64° Wedge (L31+)

    495 Credits

    495= $4.95  & 3 Nike Balls cost 450 creds---

No Pro shop is going to sell a new Cleveland wedge for the same price as a sleeve of balls.

Point is--WGT just pulls these prices out of their  %$#% hat.

Well... 3 thousand REAL bucks for a custom virtual golf bag, 5 thousand REAL bucks for a custoom virtual avatar. WGT just laughed at our faces right now.

Seemed like a mistake to me. Five thousand dollars for an avatar? Three thousand dollars for a virtual golf bag?

If regular avatars and bags are something like $5 or maybe even $9 each, then surely a custom one couldn't be more than, say, $50?

It's not equivalent in that way we were told, and I agree:

Nobody (hopefully) will take 5.000 $ from his account to buy 500.000 credits. These are contributions by others, "fish" in Poker lingo.

Their losses are payed with 20% rake into WGT's pockets, and while differerent ppl lose matches and RGs, the money vanishes by that rake. 500.000 credits are 625.000 crs in the first time, and any credit swapping increases it. Add clubs and balls...

Thus, the company has gained 125.000 crs already from rake plus an unknown amount from pro shop sales before a player presses the "buy" button for the avatar. Let's round it to 700.000 credits, reduce by 20% for the (certainly) cheaper credits from video viewing and such, then we have a guessed minimum cash income of 5.600 $ for the custom avatar.

I think the whole idea here is to help WGT find a way out of Elite section completely.  With the asinine prices they put up it is clear they either have a very large opinion of themselves and/or they simply do not want to maintain that section of the web site and intend to use it for something else.  Could be both?

Gotta say I'm very disappointed to see the gift cards go.  Not sure I understand it from WGT's perspective.  At the current exchange rate WGT can't be losing out on much to the elite collection.  Can't imagine more than 20,000$ had been paid out in 2012.  If there is nothing appealing or realistically attainable in the elite collection I will go back to gifting away credits to my friends that put real $ into the game.  Before the elite collection came I'd gifted somewhere in the 6 figures of credits when I had nothing to redeem w/ the stockpile other than virtual balls (edit- now that I think about it the elite collection may have come at the same time as RGs, but mpcs did come a while before RGs).  That is real $ that will come out of the pocket of WGT.  Also I have no idea what kinda revenue wgt makes from in game advertisements, but the hardcore group of credit grinders have to create a fair chunk of change from that as well.
