    WGTalex:

We were able to recreate the match play challenge awards problem, and plan to have a fix for it in our next release.

Thank you very much. Maybe may help even the information, that sometimes I close all browser windows except the game window...

One more thing, does it mean, that all awards will be working? I mean sandies, flag stick hits, longest drives etc. and not only match related stats? There is no reason, why they should not work in the match play mode....

No, the only awards you get in match play are match play awards. This is because match play games are not ranked, and you often do not complete a full 9 or 18 holes, or even finish a hole.

Glad I read this thread... finally hit a 300+yarder, and wondered why my longest drive wasn't updated.

Alex, everybody gets to drive the ball at least a few times during match play. Is what you are saying... the game is not setup to recognize that a match play game is indeed "finished", when it is? Seems it is, if the won/loss record is working.

Reason I ask is this... Is there a relationship between "not finishing a stroke play game/not getting awards" and a "match play game not throwing-up a "finished flag", hence not getting awards"? I mean... could this be THE reason why getting awards just won't work in match play?

In all likelihood, it's probably more that just this. Just wonderin'...

Hi Pugs, this is by design. Awards are only recorded in ranked games, and like practice rounds, match play rounds are not ranked.

Cool 'nuff... makes sense now that I've thought more about it.

Stroke play games are ranked because their play affects the community as a whole. Stroke play awards are given by WGT for achievements made while playing within this community. Match play games are more a one-on-one "personal" type of game (like practice is), hence the "personal awards" achieved during them remain personal - between the two players in that match. Sorta like... whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

    Got it.

    Thanks Alex. :)

Lol, I cannot agree with that alex. Match play games cannot be ranked, that definitely truth, because they are not played for full round and your ranking system is based on stroke game score. But match games are NOT practice games, they are VERY competitive and in fact then are ALLWAYS finished (if the game is not dropped by both players), whereby ranked stroke games are droped almost every time, only very very very few players complete their bad rounds. So now try to explain me, why for example my longest drive achieved in match game should not count? If your game is designed this way, than is it problem in your design, because it makes no sense.

Ok, last question, how difficult it would be to implement inidividual awards in match games, when they are fully working in ranked games? As a web designer and system programmer with 15+ years experience I would say....easy ;-)
