I've had to buy a new laptop and it comes with Windows 8.

I have to sign in via Microsoft account and there are all these apps that are running live. They give me live weather, latest news etc. However, I think it slows down my game. Sometimes the ball almost stops in the air, then keeps going. I've putted and the ball stops at  2ft from the hole, then suddenly it goes on to be 4ft from hole.

Is there any way I can turn off these live updates.

    Thanks.

    Jason.

Not sure with Windows 8, but have you tried turning them off in task manager ?

Or maybe have them not start in the first place by using run/msconfig

Hi Jason - my name is Yancy
I also dern got a new lappy with the windows8
Now a feller can turn off the apps - just search help - you can also remove those "live" tiles that suck up a lot of yer putters powers as well and such.

That's been my experience  - (I am Yancy)

Think you will find this helps your computer in general.
    Regards, Yancy

Just right click each tile that is animated Jason and select turn off live tile from the options bar at the bottom of the screen.
