Equipment advice

  It was a tough choice but I purchased the following:

  - Taylormade ATV 64 Wedge (L39+)

  The wedge is probably a temporary solution till I can/will affford the Clevelands 588 (L76, L78 and L80). I tried the L80 but wanted the L76 and L78 also. For now the ATV will help me progress to hopefully master and beyond.

  For the driver I will wait till level 85 before I decide what to buy. Any recommendations are welcome.

  Thank for the input you all gave. It helped a lot.

  There is only 1 driver at 85, the Callaway Fusion.

  Others before it are ok too, but if you're waiting till 85 that's the one and only one.

  From the drivers I tried (2 hrs free rent) the 4 between 70 & 81. The X2 Hot (L72), the M1 (L74), the SLDR (L79) and the Ping (L81). As I remember I liked the X2 the best and shortly hereafter the Ping. Looking at (older) reviews others liked the SLDR the best.

  I tried the SLDR and Ping drivers again. The SLDR is really great and it seems I can handle the meter pretty well and forgiveness is reasonable. The Ping has however a very speedy and narrow meter. In retrospectieve I think the first time I rented the Ping I used balls with a slow meter, so when using those it's ok, but with standard WGT balls the meter is too fast for me.

  Anyway, at this moment the SLDR is at #1 till level 81. I'm curieus for the Callaways at L83 and especially the one at L85.

  You wont regret buying clevelands, they are different class to all other wedges.

  You are level 82 and level 85 is 298215 XP.  Not sure how far along 82 you are but from 82 - 85 is 60,600 XP.  If you've accumulated a pretty decent CDP it won't take you too long to get to 85.  If I were you I'd play for a while longer, lvl up and wait for the Callaway at 85.

  It seems strange there is only one review for the Callaway Fusion Driver (L85+). The forgiveness is the only difference I can see. Are there other advantaged versus the others below 85.

  I am a member since december 2016 but play the game intens for 3 months. So CDP is now almost 90 days (1150 added just now).I am now at 243135 and made it to Master yesterday.

  You may find that this is good for "eternity". It shoots quite well to the aiming point and all the shots are useable. I upgraded only the longer wedges.

  Just some additional equipment advice to pass along.  Don't listen to Mcduff61.
