correction,- I meant "holes in one" not birdies ... anyway, general opinion seems that it Is indeed possible. so I guess that answers my question

I hit 470 yds once. Driver went 276, 4 iron about 183, short wedge to about 3 yards, then two putted.:)

So how is that possible? am I missing something here (are there secret super drivers one gets at "champion level"? It takes the fun out of the progress to play better if I am not convinced some people are using some questionable "assistance" with their game....

You should be looking at this the other way around. The harder you practice the faster you will be on par with the best players. Once there, you will know the only "assistance" is best preparation and execution. The results will take care of themselves.

Or the only assistance is a good calculator to figure how much power to use on your shots and putts.

    Interesting post.

OP started in February 2016, is a TM and has won over $207.00. Out of 124 stroke matched that he has entered, he has 49 top 10 finishes.  Talk about REMARKABLE?

Congratulations SKY0DIVER, you cracked the code on this game pretty darned fast!!

Holes in one are not that hard to get.  I'm up to 20 myself.

Easy to say, hard to back up. I have 16 I can prove. :-)

It's possible also to get drives in excess of 400 yards on St. Andrews with a heavy tail wind

That is so true Don, I specifically remember one you had at St. Andrew's # 4 that caught the tip of the finger and rolled and rolled and captured 437 yards or so, while at the same time, I well remember the extremely popular, unheard of thread the "300 yard club". Strange things can happen over time here. In my case it was the 8 holes in one I had over 7 weeks. HIO's, mind you, not CTTH Aces.
