I’m currently in a club of nearly 250 members. I’ve been trying to start a handicapped league with monthly tournaments that honors the handicap system of golf by using an excel spreadsheet that accounts for level, tier, and ongoing adjusted handicap so that players at all tiers can play one another on an even playing field. Unfortunately, my current club seems to enjoy match play tourneys more, and the higher ranked players and officers are loathe to give up their significant advantages over lower ranked players by having their handicap adjusted and capped.
If you think your club would be interested in participating and supporting such a format, I’d be happy to join and run the tournament through your club forums. Hopefully, I’ll hear back from you soon so that I can choose a new club by the New Year.
