In a preemptive "I quit" at a job when I was younger, I pinched a fresh loaf in the middle of the bathroom floor.

I didn't need them for a reference anyway.

    If we compare "understanding a guitar" to magic;
    Slowhand is David Copperfield.
    but Hendrix... ,  oh..
    - he was Aleister Crowley.

TPing a high school teacher's house, and having the guy that droves us 5 miles out into the country, getting caught up in a tree, and having to walk home in the middle of the night, and every time a car would come by, jumping over the fence into the field, thinking it was the cops, lol.

    Pat Metheny

    Steve Vai

    Paul Gilbert

    SRV

    Steve Morse

    Jeff Beck

    Al Di Meola

    John McLaughlin

    Joe Satriani

    Paco De Lucia

    Jimi (Last name not required)

This would be a very long list.....

EC, great songwriter, not a great guitarist in pretty much every sense.

I like his music don't get me wrong, but he's certainly not in the same class as any of the above as far as playing ability and mastery of the instrument.

I will not derail the thread, but all guitarists listed have different styles. You can't say one is better than another. EC is very fluid and more of a blues guitarist and plays with feeling rather than just being technical.

But would make a darn good discussion in a new thread!!

    mkg335:

Full disclosure:  The above is a variation on the poem "Negative Clank" from a collection called Rommel Drives on Deep into Egypt by Richard Brautigan.

Had to google that ^^ Mark  ( doesn't happen often )

    Thought provoking as per....

Back 'in the swing' now, we play soon...
