MP INVITES ALT SHOT , STROKE , COIN

      While we are waiting for various features in multiplayer rounds " MP " to become a reality .

    RECEIVING INVITES :

    While receiving an invite .

    To stay on the screen long enough to reasonably reply .

     Include a message block to communicate your status ." I'll be ready in 30 seconds" ," 5 minutes ", "10 minutes "," let's try tomorrow "," playing right now "" message me bud " etc .

    Also with ACCEPT or DECLINE and possibly PLAYING RIGHT NOW .

    WHILE INVITING

    A message block to enter other players not showing green . Also other invitees in the lobby can suggest other players they see green .

    Other invitees in the lobby please remain for the full 5 minutes of the invite clock . Probably only waiting for 1 more player .

    .ONCE THE HOST CLICKS PLAY

    There are many players like myself that have a longer load time prior to the tee

    than some others . As much as 60 to 90 seconds .

    Please know this and remain patiently knowing I , we , they will appear eventually ..

    Many players do know this . And are very cool about it . I thank you very much .

    And pre tee is the only delay there will be .

    IN COIN PLAY ONCE THE INVITE IS ACCEPTED

    The above is especially important . Please know that this is the only delay PRE TEE . Just a few more seconds and the game will be underway .

    THE ABILITY TO CHANGE AVAILABILITY STATUS

    The old Flash program had quite an extensive feature to show various status . Even for various different game formats .

    I do not think we can expect such a precise feature as that in the new format .

    But I do think we should be able to designate :

    GREEN AVAILABLE

    RED BUSY

    Baby steps I guess ..

    In the old Flash . In MP Stroke RR's ( ranked rounds ) . Was the only format that went RED BUSY once a round had started . To not be interrupted by invites .

    This should continue . Once they figure out how .

    In unlimited play single player rounds . Both WGT ( default settings ) and CC ( tiered custom settings ) .

    The ability to invite during a round was left on , on purpose . Because :

    The round has " game completion turned off " . The only format with that . Giving the single player the option of restarting the round ( also the only format with the restart option ) .. 

    And or accepting an invite . Without consequences . Not interrupting a MP round .

    In the unlimited play single player round . Ending , quitting , exiting the round at anytime on any hole does not count against you . On your average or game completion .

    That should stay the same if they ever figure it out .

    Alt shot and Match Play rounds . Status can be changed manually . Not automatically as those rounds are inconsequential ..

    Those I think are the basics that cover most invite concerns . There are other glitches . Some personal . Some WGT . That also make it harder to play .

    If the invite system can be made anywhere close to the old Flash feature . That would help game play so much .

    I believe that once you are involved in a any form of a game , you should be marked as busy (red )...that way you don`t have to manually change your status and risk losing the chat feature , which is frustrating even with the key bindings...

      There are a few trains of thought on that .

      One is your view about not having to change it manually . But usually the downside to that is forgetting to change it back .

      I have not heard before this . That an invite has anything to do with the chat feature . I have never experienced that .

      The other problem with turning RED BUSY automatically is that one who doesn't get many invites . May not want to miss a particular invite . Or would want to be able to message the inviter .

      I would want to at least take note of the inviter . To follow up later . I have had much trouble with invites for a while . So restricting them is not on my list .

      I do understand that others may not feel the same way .

      But assuming that an alt shot round is a more leisurely format . Also assuming that there is no connection with the invite to chat . There could be more time for a quick response .

      Generally an alt shot round has more opportunity for many things . Although no one is trying to lengthen the round . As no one is trying to shorten the round

      The round can be set up with a 90 second clock . In almost all cases the player will make their shot with still around 30 t0 60 seconds left on the clock . Not even using a minute . But the opportunity is there if the time is needed . Only seconds . But meaningful seconds .

      The same can be said for the time outs . No one wants to have to use a time out . But just in case . In order to continue the round . They are there . 7 is max . Maybe never used . But they could preserve the round .

      I assume everyone still agrees to set up with no apparel .

      These are just what i have found as factors to help get complete rounds in .

      There is a distinction between the 5 main MP formats .

    MP Stroke Play : The round is counted , ranked rounds . All stats and scores are counted . Automatic RED BUSY to stop invites from interfering .

    Unlimited play single player . Statistics and scores are counted in rounds that are completed only . As an invite can be quickly declined without any problem . And as easily accepted if the player wishes . Does not affect anyone else . No reason for RED BUSY .

    Coin . Not a counted or ranked round . Has no meaning or purpose other than a forced pressure filled format . That one can gain good experience in . And meaningless coins . No reason for RED BUSY .

    Alt Shot . Another no statistic no score meaningless format . Other than enjoyable team play . And more good experience . No reason for RED BUSY.

    Match . An obsolete format . Still played for fun and experience . No statistics . No scores . No reason for RED BUSY .

    Single Play Tournaments and Bracket Rounds are also a good argument to incorporate automatic RED BUSY . As they are single play and interruption would lead to a WD ( withdrawl ) .

      I am sure that invites have not affected the times that my chat feature has broken or froze .

      To restore my chat . I would click on the browser . Open a forum tab in WGT . Click on reply or edit .

      Type 1 thing . Minimize the browser . Back to the game . And the text would be restored . Just like that .

      This has happened over a dozen times . Each time this method easily restored the chat .

    I use the ANY selection, and I couldn't tell you the last time I've played an apparel OFF game for Stroke or Alt Shot.

      That's fine . But there are several threads here in the forums . That have suggested that most prefer apparel off when choosing a MP round .More specifically alt shot .

      That is why the feature has been modified to have a choice when setting up a round .

      All my rounds have been set up with apparel off . As the consensus suggested ..

      With the exception of Coin games . Of course .

    Club distant changes

    Alt Shot Games Again

    Multi-player games

      Some of these mention turning Apparel off while playing alt shot . There are more mentions in the forums I could not find .

    Hey Paul, I was only giving you an FYI.  I know of all the consensus, specially in the beginning.  As we go on, I feel like most players don't care as long as they can find a good game.  I play daily, Stroke or Alt Shot (sometimes both) eastern time 8pm'ish, and I couldn't tell you the last time it found an Apparel OFF with the ANY selection.  To me, I don't care either way what I play, as long as I play, LOL!  With apparel ON, it helps with my driver, I don't want to mess with my iron remapping or etc. it's not needed for me.  Also makes me wonder if the ANY selection is really working, or if it was something that they added just to please us.  I was a big pusher for the ANY selection.  It finds games, but normally apparel ON only for me.  I'm playing, and for the most part, haven't had any issues lately.

    Wondering though, when you setup a game with apparel OFF, are you finding players easily, or does it take you the full time limit or a 2nd setup?

      Okay . This sounds reasonable .

      Originally I thought I was getting games because apparel was off .

      I will try with it on or any if I can .

      But I think many do not like the 90 second clock or the 7 timeouts .

      In 5 minutes I can barely get 3 without cancellations .

      There are many days like today . When I cannot get a game . Period . Whether it be " CREATE A GAME " . Alt shot . Or coin .

      I cannot get anyone to wait for my load time .

      This is what I see when I get to the tee . ( below )

      In this case . It was one of the other team that quit . The reason I know this . Is this is that game .

    pdb1 and phill66lava defeated spanishshark and jagger48 in a 9-hole Alternate Shot game on KIAWAH ISLAND: THE OCEAN COURSE.

      Not 5 minutes ago . Without 1 hole played .

      Yesterday I got several coin games in and a couple alt shot .
