Dogwood Animal Rescue Project

  My wife and I have been volunteering at Dogwood Animal Rescue for awhile now.

  This is Ellie, Moose, Manfred, Roger and Phil.  They came to Dogwood about 4 weeks ago and were bottle fed until a couple of days ago. There are 4 boys and a girl (one of the white ones) in this group and their DNA came back American Bulldog/Boxer/Pitty/Beagle.

  

  Both PC and mobile accepted!

  Mama Sakura delivered one week ago today(Jan 3, 2020), on a damp concrete floor in a chain link kennel. Her owner had been in failing health for some time and didnt realize she was pregnant (daddy is an Akita too). Knowing he couldnt care for them he surrendered the litter to our friends at Antioch Animal Control who did a fabulous job caring for them while they reached out to us for help.
  
  After a rough start, Sakura has turned out to be a fabulous mother and a sweetheart too. Her 5 chunky pups are thriving.

  IMNSHO this sounds like a CC well worth checking. 

  My Mother always said if someone is not kind to animals keep walking (paraphrased).

  Dogs are such great companions.  Miss my luck at having shared the lives of a couple every day.

  Cats wise we have two.  I am not a cat person and I specifically instructed no more animals here, but the wife helps at the local rescure and for some weird reason we not only have two cats but one jumps on my lap every time I sit down............Thing even follows me around.

  I don't frequent this forum now but just noticed this thread and feel the need to comment.

   

  Fantastic read and as per Jim , good luck with your work.

   

  And good luck with your club. I'm sure you will be a reliable trustworthy  "owner"
