  As we plow our way through the season, the Duffers are qualifying in bunches each week to take part in the ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR Championship, starting in August.  Thirty members (plus ties) in season-long points get to go to the FedEX St. Jude Classic next month.  Eleven so far have guaranteed themselves a spot in the post season and are shown below.

  If you'd like to take part in the ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR in the 2022-23 season, you have to be a member!  Come check out the club, and if you are looking for something (or, something new), give us some consideration!

  I'm expecting the PGA to release the 2022-23 FedEX Cup TOUR schedule sometime in the upcoming days.  Some of the events are already announced.  I've roughed out the tentative season schedule for the ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR.

  Here are some dates to keep in mind (subject to change):

   

  First event:   Fortinet Championship, September 10-18, 2022 (we'll play Olympic)

  ODR Member-Member Tournament:  December 10-18, 2022, four different courses! NO ODR-FedEX Cup points awarded, each winning team member gets a virtual trophy!  You get to pick your own partner, you can play your rounds separately, and the event is handicapped.

  The Players Championship:  March 4-12, 2023

  The Masters:  April 1-9, 2023

  PGA Championship: May 14-22, 2023

  US Open: June 10-18, 2023

  OPEN Championship:  July 15-23, 2023

  ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR Championship:  August, 2023, dates TBA

   

  If you'd like to participate in the season-long ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR, you first must be a member of our Country Club!  Click on our club home page to see what we're all about! We are one of only SEVEN WGT Country Clubs with a Club Level of 22 or 21, and we are a very active, yet relaxed, Club; we only ask that you play a minimum of once a week, and we welcome, but don't push for or require, Clash participation. 

  Our Club Owner, CRowan, runs a Discord (voice only) 9-hole team game mornings at 8:00 am and evenings at 7:00 pm US Central Time, seven days a week. Captains draw their own three-or-four Duffer teams each event.  Most of the Club Officers regularly participate, so it's always a good place to throw out ideas and thoughts.

  Congratulations to the 2021-22 ODR-FedEX Cup Champion:  CRowan!!!

  

   

  The 2022-23 ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR season starts Saturday, September 10, with the setting of the Fortinet Championship.  We closely follow the PGA's actual FedEX Cup TOUR, starting each 4-round, 9-holes per round (18 holes for Majors and Playoffs) tournament eight days before the actual TOUR's final round.  There are bonus points events (all four Majors, the TPC, and the WGC events), and we do one Closest to the Hole points tournament (the Zurich Classic of New Orleans).  In addition, this year, there are two special, non-points events:  The Presidents Cup (a CTTH elimination event) and the ODR Member-Member Tournament (pair up with your favorite Duffer, and you play a better ball handicapped event).  Next years playoffs start on August 5, 2023, at the FedEX St. Jude Championship.

  The Duffers are less than two months away from the Second Annual ODR Member-Member Tournament.

  This is a handicapped, four-round, event where two Duffers pair up (your partner is your choice) to play a better ball tournament at four different courses.  Each member of the winning team gets this personally-engraved virtual crystal trophy to keep forever and ever:

   

     

   

  The only requirement to enter a team is to be a member of the Old Duffers Retreat!  If this sounds like a fun tourney, consider giving the Duffers a shot.

  The Old Duffers Retreat was founded by it's original owner, Saltyoldtar, on December 5, 2011.  Salty ran this incredible country club for many years before retiring from ownership, and handing the reins over to ronniebjannamon.  Ronnie also successfully oversaw our group before passing the torch to CRowan, who is our present Club Owner.

   

  Sad news to report.  Our second owner, ronniebjannamon, passed away on February 17.  This leaves a huge hole in the hearts of all of our members; Ronnie was a very active golfer, and quite the cut up in Discord during our daily group games.  We all miss him very much.

   

  Please say a prayer for ronnie and his family, and if you can, play a round in his honor.  In memoriam.....

  The "ronniebjannamon Texas Open" is now underway at the Old Duffers Retreat.  This regular stop on both the PGA Tour and the ODR-FedEX Cup TOUR has been renamed (on our tour) to honor our recently-passed former club owner, as the event is played at the TPC San Antonio, which is a couple hundred miles from Ronnie's home town.  Our tournament winner gets the usual ODR-FedEX Cup points, but also gets their name on the perpetual trophy below.  It's a very small way that we can honor the memory of our friend.
