Andy: I never said that they cheat, just prove that they don't. Defense has to prove their case as well as the prosecution.

Actually in this case they don't......as they have no case to answer. Last time I looked accusations without any proof or evidence didn't put anyone in the dock. Do you know law?

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example: I'm out getting drunk one night and throw a brick through BolloxInBruge's window. The police have CCTV footage of someone (alledgedly me) doing it and there are witnesses who who have given a statement of someone who fits my description, therefore the police can question me and if they feel they have a good case they'll charge me and put the case forward to the procurator fiscal who decides whether or not it goes to court. If or when the case gets to court....it is then my defense team might want to defend my case (i.e I'll have an alibi or can prove the guy in the CCTV images ain't me...and the witnesses were high on mind bending drugs therefore their accounts are not reliable).

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example of WGT Cheat Case: Many individuals feel that there are players using cheat programs to hit low scores here on WGT. There is no proof whatsoever....no witnesses....no evidence apart from some goofy looking programs on youtube that to be honest may or may not work. To sum up this case.....all we have before us are accusations based not on fact but fantasy therefore this case would be lucky to be played out on a tennis court...but it would get nowhere near a law court.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As much as I hate to say it....all the accusers are doing are making fools out of themselves by making accusations they can't follow up.

Lets all call it assisted golfing so one feels better about his golf game. prove your not getting assisted golfing. I`m sure the accused can think of something. We can have a tournament for the assisted golfers only. how interesting that would be blaming each other for being better assisted. How about an assisted score of 50 on the ketel cup. lets see that`s 14 birdies and 4 eagles i think. Just a lucky game I assume.

"assisted golfing" roflmao....i liked that....however back to the topic.

they don't have to prove anything......the onus is on the accusers to show us the money or shut up.

    gobbog:
I think WGT has set the game set up in a way that cheating doesn't effect the outcome. I've played many shots that I've dinged perfectly only to result in a ball going into a bunker. I've had many shots that I've missed the ding by a huge margin and ended up in the middle of the fairway or 3 feet from the pin. Sometimes the only putts that I make are when I've missed the shot!

In Essence, you are 100% spot on. After a year n a 1/2 and simply playing so much, and eventually improving my scores appreciably, by getting to know the lay of the land, I made, Master, and MAN, it's a much tougher game. I've whined, cried, and bitterly complained about the meter issues ( Sadly, deleting friends will make a tremendous improvement there), I had issues with balls lost, seemingly more and more, as I "advanced", and I've prolly complained about the same troubles that most folks gripe about, However.. the little idiosyncrasies you speak of are REAL, and Most Definitely an inherent part of this game. As far as I know there isn't a single player that can say they never lost, and I have experienced the things you speak of countless times. It can be frustrating as hell, and sometimes it can be a wonderful thing, and That seems to be as close to "real" as possible, as in "Virtual Golf"

    Well Said.

Unfortunately you're right.  But only in the Court of Public Opinion.  That's today's society not the one you and I grew up in.

However, in our legal system I doubt it would even get to trial since the prosecution has only circumstantial evidence,( they shoot low scores).  There's no smoking gun. (I know this even though I'm not a lawyer I do watch Law and Order or Judge Judy all the time and was a big fan of Perry Mason back in our day. LOL)

WGT would like to hear people's opinions on this subject.

You can call WGT direct on this number.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I've read in other threads that many of the top players have actually played on webcam (or live with others from WGT), and shot scores consistent with their averages.

Or is that just my foggy memory?

Holy crap!!  I just saw bigfoot!!
