    Hello All,

The 'Usual Suspects' were the big players again this week. The Avatar, nivlac, gitthe and thunderbird all scoring heavily although Avatar has now streched his lead at the top by a further 3 points, can anything stop this man!!! Hope he's got his fingers insured.

A good week for Portsd has seen him rise 2 places in the top 10 to number 8.

Congrates also to paulmcm who leapt a massive 14 places up to 26 this week on the back of 2 solid performances. The other big riser of the week, up 4, was steel4rce.

Congratulations to MElli22631 on his new entry to the table this week.

These rankings are based on single play, stroke play competition. Every 18 hole single play competition has been included, since they started in April of this year. The scores are from the original Amatuer tier and the new Masters tier, the top tier of players.

The top 50 players each competition get points. The top 50 players are defined by those that finish on the front page of the results . If you are tied with the person in 50 th place but not on the front page, tough.

For the weekly comps the points are divided up in almost exactly the same fashion as shown on the WGT prize distibution tables, please see table below. Where scores are tied the points are shared evenly.

The weekly competitions are worth a total of 30 points. The one major of the year was worth 80 points and the International Monthlys were worth 50. However as the International Monthlys have changed format these are now excluded and  I am now  including the 9 hole single play weekly which is worth 20 points.

You cannot enter this competition, if you score well as a Master, your score is automatically entered.

No he requested that his name not be used in these rankings?

I'd refuse to oblige an absurd request like that. Obliging it skews everything, including the data on up-and-down movers in this week's chart. It damages the integrity of your rankings, TallAcePaul. I believe they will be next to worthless if you leave top player(s) out of them. Tibbets is a great guy, but he does show the tendency to make unreasonable demands, such as "Don't post to forum threads I started unless you agree with me."

Paul promised he'd include his criteria below his ranking every time, but apparently he forgot. See this discussion & also this detailed explanation by Paul.

Not the bigger mistake, so far. Well, they are your rankings, TallAcePaul, and I just think any top player's absence in such rankings devalues your effort considerably.

It's like having the golf world rankings and 'forgetting' to put Paul Casey in it!
