The back nine of SA is fantastic especially the Road Hole which I've managed to par in my first two efforts.

    Well done to all concerned.

18th hole!  I could barely take my eyes off the scenery to choose my club for my approach.  After putting out I chose the pub in the building center right for a snifter of brandy to celebrate the round.

I missed the pub DMM. I would get the mead though. I wish there was a pub in the states that served mead.

Richard... we have a place that makes and serves mead right here in Bellingham, WA!(http://www.honeymoonmead.net/)

And what's up with those Cardinals?!  Break up the Astros!

Thanks for the link DMM. I'm going to contact them and see about getting a bottle for my Birthday coming up.

Yeah, the cards stunk the place up with the Astros. There's a week link in the Cardinal pitching rotation. I'm keeping-up hope for a sweep against the Reds this weekend though.

    Thanks again DMM.

My first impression of the back nine at St. Andrews is that the greens are far from being easy, especially on holes 11, 13, 14, and 18. I had 3 three-putts in 9 holes on my first round, but nevertheless, it's a great addition to the game.

UPDATE: Made my very first eagle ever, and I've done it on Hole 18 of St. Andrews. http://wgt.com/gameclient.aspx?view=showReplay&JSON=%7B%20%22GUID%22%20%3A%20%22446f6bed-165f-45f8-a95b-9d7601502fb3%22%2C%20%22Brand%22%20%3A%20%22undefined%22%20%7D. Interesting that on the very same hole on my first round here, I've made double-bogey, but now I've made an eagle.

The road hole is a brute with the pin in the back, especially with the wind in your face.

Hole 13 is almost a guaranteed bogey. Landing short of the green will result in an impossible shot from the fescue and going long will result in an impossible 80+ foot putt.

Hole 17 is a guaranteed bogey if you land it ON the green front-right when the hole is back-left. So laying it up 50 yards shot might actually be a better idea (Made bogey when going for the green, made par for the latter).

Hole 11, 12, 14, and 18 are also holes in which you could easily wind up with a 3-putt if you land on the wrong section of the green.

Nevertheless, it's a great course providing a lot of challenge, and it may take several tries to get the hang of putting on those greens.

Not really. I've played the back nine twice now and neither time did I bogey either of those holes.
