I have had some terrible rounds where nothing goes right. The frustration builds and people just quit to save themselves unnecessary aggravation. If you do it often because of one or two bad holes it becomes a problem though. You have to allow for learning the game properly and that entails learning from your mistakes. Some people play more practice rounds and less ranked rounds to prevent lots of fluctuation to their average. Others mostly ranked rounds.
