can someone offer suggestions on the 9th at Kiawah.  no matter what i do, i end up in the front fringe or on the back of the green, play a little more club than the distance and hits the front and stops, play a little more and hits the green and runs to the back 30-50 feet from the pin.  have tried various clubs, spin, punch, nothing helps, maybe 1 out of 30 is on the green within 20 feet of the hole.

    any suggestions would help, thanks.

just enough club and some topspin usually works good 4 me

at the same time , i'll take the front fringe short chip over that ugly putt from the back any day

    Cheers

That hole ruins many good rounds.  Nowhere in this game do I choke as bad as I do at KI 9.  Thanks for the top-spin advice.

I have played that course many times and still dont get it either! I wouldnt have a problem with being in front of the green for a chip shot but I dont understand chipping on here so I end up with a 2 yard chip or one that goes 40 feet passed the hole and that isnt a good spot.
