Is there any special formatting requirements when pasting from a word document.

Well, you have that special button on the toolbar there, don't you?

But it's best not to paste anything from Word documents here. The formatting usually gets messed up anyway. This is forum software, and Word is office software. Office software was never intended for composing message-board posts.

You can use 'Word Pad' (not notepad, it messes up the format). Just save the document as a TXT before you post it. The 'rich text' default causes problems. I use this format to write CNC programs in G code. If a CNC can use it, is is really universal.

Saving a document as TXT is no good, Soulcatcher, because (as you of course know) that will remove all the formatting such as bold font, italics, bullets with indents and whatnot. The purpose of allowing the pasting from Word into here was precisely to make it easier to transfer formatted text – except that it never really works properly, even when using the dedicated toolbar button. The font in the forum post ends up being too small, even though it's OK in Word, etc. etc.

I'd say, just forget about pasting anything from Word to here; it's best to learn how to work directly in this forum software's edit window & achieve what one wants to achieve.
