  Anyone else have the problem of hitting the ball right on center yet have it careen off course by 20 yards or more?  Quite frustrating.

  never happened to me...i hit perfect tee shots to the center fairway and usually stick the pin to within 5' on every hole...

  then i wake up and realize it was all a dream...lol

  seriously, what you have witnessed is what is affectionately called "the beast", aka "deviation"...feel free to search the forums for the many references to the beast.

  I asked this last week.  It only seems to happen to me on iron shots or maybe those are the ones that you notice more.  My example was on #14 at Kiawah where I hit a perfect shot dead center and it misses the green right.  They called this the Beast, it reminds me of the movie Broken Arrow, where they lost 2 nuclear weapons.  They called in a code Broken Arrow, which is code for lost nuclear weapons, the guy said he didn't know which was worse, losing the weapons or knowing we had a code for this happening.

  I think we should rename the BEAST to an appropriate 4 letter word.
