    it depends on the program you are using. in microsoft word, you choose "Insert, Hyperlink".  in the dialog box that opens, there is an area to paste your hyperlink, and a different area for the text you want to display. hope this helps.

    LeGeNDaRy1:
    I have seen people put a link to a website using a different name on here.  How do I do that?

    • Type your post
    • Highlight the word or name you want to link
    • Once you highlight it the little chain icon in the toolbar lights up. Click it
    • Paste your URL in the box there and click "INSERT"

    Your linked word will turn green if you did it right and clicking on it takes you to wherever you link to.  :-)

    that's even better YJ:)

    when i did it though, i copy/pasted the link into this forum reply text editor like this:

    <right-click, paste>

    http://wgt.com/forums/t/25004.aspx

    when i highlight that pasted link, then click the "Insert/edit link" chain icon, then type "this forum's link" in the "Title" field, the link remains the same name. i did it via the Word way, and this was the result:

    this forum's link
