New courses?

    tommyb4:
Will you wake up and help us, please??

    In short, no they won't.

There are frequently lots of people commenting in the forum about how the game is declining, or it's in a tailspin or a death spiral or whatever, and those comments have been coming for years now. I don't necessarily subscribe to that point of view but I do agree that it has stagnated through lack of growth/expansion.

But even though I have been here longer than you I am not bored at all by this game. I still find it entertaining, challenging and fun. I absolutely do want new courses of course, who doesn't? But with all the competitions, variable conditions, match play and A/S games there is plenty to keep me interested.

I still enjoy the challenge of trying to score lower. I'm a fair-to-middling Champion who will never be as good as the top players here, but I think of the game as a puzzle to be solved, and I like feeling that I'm improving all the time. I don't use spreadsheets, rulers, wind calculators or anything other than mental arithmetic to calculate my shots, and that's also challenging and satisfying/frustrating in equal measure.

I belong to a small but excellent country club that has lots of competitions and I know and like every fellow member. I enjoy being part of the club and playing with people I consider to be friends and all of this keeps me coming back each day.

I can truly say, hand on heart, I am never bored and never have been bored here. I am genuinely sorry you are bored out of your mind, but if you think the only cure for that is to get 8+ new courses then I'm sorry to have to tell you that your boredom will be incurable because it's just not going to happen.

As I've said elsewhere I will keep playing here until the last light gets switched off because I get plenty of enjoyment and I don't expect WGT to make all my fun for me. Improvements would be good, bug fixes would be most welcome, expansion would be excellent, but I still see no competitor that beats this game, and until I do I shall keep playing here.

Yes, I feel the same as you. My only gripe is having to pay for Whistler and the other one....brain fart, is it Capo Del Sol? Hence, I haven't played there since they made it free for a short time.

I guess you're right.  I look at all Top Golf does - they just opened a facility at one of our Detroit Casinos, and I'm a struggling Legend trying to get my stroke average below par, but I just think my interests would be better served moving on.  I'll give them until October 1st to attempt to do something, but then I need to move on to a gaming system.  Maybe my boredom comes from playing at least 9 holes daily.  Just sick to death at looking at the same fairways and pin positions every single goddamm day!  It's grounhog day on WGC.

Sheep.  You're all sheep.  Someone offers to make a poop and you all stick your hats out waiting for the load.  Read my posts carefully.  We've ALL spent too much money on this game and get nothing in return.

On Fri Dec. 8 2017, on page one of this thread:

    alcaucin:
I'd happily bet £100 on no new course next year...an E/W punt, but not a silly bet I feel.

    Unfortunately not, my friend!

For once, I uttered "hope", only to be disappointed. Dante is right: "Abandon all hope..."

Speak for yourself please and follow suit if you mean what you say. Irrational to throw good money after the bad!

Despite my disappointment above, I have a good ROI - not in substance but in leisure, fun, friendship etc. obtained for around 10 bucks per month. Real golf is much more expensive!

Well that's where you lost any sympathy I may have had for you and your line of argument.

I wouldn't wait until October 1st if I were you because the kind of changes you are looking for and which you apparently think you are owed will not happen. You've already said that you'll be looking for a gaming system instead and that's the thing right there - this isn't that (at least on PC).

It seems to me that you're missing out on a large area of enjoyment in this particular game, but you play in a limited fashion. You play a bunch of WGT tournaments but not country club ones, so either your club doesn't create many or you aren't much of a participator in them. You have barely any match play or alt-shot games in your stats which makes me think you are not much interested in the social side of play on WGT. The fact that you only have five friends on your list and only two of those are from your country club bears this out. Why are you even in a country club in that case?

You're bored by what you view as the lack of variety offered by this game, but it seems to me you actively choose a lack of variety. If you want to mix it up and discover other areas of the game then try joining an active country club (not one where over half the members haven't even played in 2018 yet like your current one), meet new people, make new friends, play in country club competitions, play socially, become involved....try something new because there's lots to explore.

Or you can just keep doing the same limited, boring thing you've been doing. In which case I'd suggest you don't go calling anyone else a sheep.
