  An enjoyable matchup with a fine gentleman.
  
  The matched proved to be quite competitive after I got off to an early 3-up lead through 4. gyrene120 birdied seven of the next ten holes, including a pitch-in on 12. After my bogey on 14 cut the lead to one, I came back with a near eagle hole-out on 15 to get the lead back to two. We both messed up 16 and halved the hole, and the match was decided when we halved 17 with pars.

  It was a pleasure playing with Jacobite12 (Al) as he is a real gentleman and a great person to play with. He was having trouble with his meter but he stuck it out like a trooper and I was having a tremendous round.

  Group 1 match 8 SEL Spartans v Wooden Tees

  Having looked at Birchi's (Simon) stats I knew that I was in for a tough ride. Played the best 8 holes for months to be 2 UP, including Eagles on the two par fives. From there I lost 7 out of 8 holes to Birdies, and Kiawah produced some of those ludicrous putts that only it can, such as 45 degrees away from where you aimed and missing from 3-4 feet. 

  I did not help by losing a hole to wrong putting grid, and also Simon was deadly with his putter during those 8 holes. I have to say though this is fairly typical of me on this course, I can 'scalp' the first nine but tend to struggle on the back nine, never quite sure why. 

  The result was definitely deserved, although I felt the margin rather harsh. 

  Thoroughly enjoy these matches and wish everyone a great deal of pleasure for the remainder of the tournament.

  Twinmeegs wins 2&1

  a game of putter hot potato as mine was too hot to handle & so a back & forth ensued. I fortunately withstood the fire to finish an enjoyable match w a 2up lead.

  A classic Match play game against Mark.  Flashes of brilliance from both of us followed by some OMFG where is that going one's. Nobody ever got more than 1 up in a very tight and tense battle.  Thanks to Mark for some great competition and company.  :-)

  Group 4...RD 8.....Match 2....Tie #3..................tiptopTOPPIN defeated reddog1965 in a 18 hole match play game on KIAWAH ISLAND: THE OCEAN COURSE...........3up Keith didnt have the best of luck with the ding rough shots made all the diffrence otherwise was a close game.. nice guy am sure we will play again sometime fun game!

  Played my game with RZimmermann22. Directly 3 dn at the first 3 holes. Came back to AS at the 15th but sadly lost the 18th. Not my best game.

  The elusive win!

  Played a bit of hot potato w kwhitehart as my putter was on fire than i passed the proverbial potato to him for a few holes before reclaiming it & preserving a 2&1 victory.

  Pleasant and swift match w nice feller.
