    borntobesting:
Why not hit a 3 wood from the rough?? My Big Bertha 3 wood is almost as good as a hybrid from 20/25% rough with a punch shot. Any heavier it won't work well but from the light stuff it is very good.

I use 3w punch up to 40% rough and get good results.

It all depends on what's between your ball and the fairway though, but if it's a clear run-out I just whack it like a mole.

Here's one I hit earlier today ; 251 yards from 30/40% rough (Punched 3/4 topspin)

Also consider why you ended in the rough. If you are having trouble getting close to the ding, then using the 3w, even punch, can be dangerous as forgiveness is usually not as good as your long irons punched. The Berthas are great clubs until you miss the ding by more than a minor amount. If you found the rough from a misread of the wind but are nailing the ding consistently, the 3w punched from the rough is a good deal.
