With those pins on Merion.....  watching on the Telly,  we can't see the flags to see how strong the wind is.

Got my own room to watch THE OPEN in. Locked the door and only come out for beer, bathroom break, and a fire if I hear the alarm. Golf the way it should be. Love it. ;-())

Another reason its a "bear" of a course. Some great players struggling with it. Not accusing anyone of anything, but there's no way you'd shoot in the 50's on that course like the scores being posted in our Virtual U.S. Open.

I absolutely love the live play on this course. What a struggle. I have little chiggles when is see 4ft putts go wide abd phil having that WTF look on his face. These greens are even more brutal in real life.

I posted the below in the Courses forum over an hour ago and it hasn't shown up yet.... does moderation take that long?  Or do you have to have a minimum number of posts to start a thread?

Anyway, I found these stats to be interesting..... pulled the numbers from the CBS Sports site.  Below are Merion's 18 holes sorted from easiest to hardest by stroke average in relation to par through two rounds of the US Open.

#18 and #5 are giving the pros as much hell as they give me.

    Hole Par Stroke Avg. Diff
    13 3 2.873 (0.127)
    10 4 3.968 (0.032)
    1 4 4.039 0.039
    8 4 4.058 0.058
    2 5 5.120 0.120
    12 4 4.182 0.182
    7 4 4.185 0.185
    11 4 4.224 0.224
    3 3 3.341 0.341
    16 4 4.351 0.351
    4 5 5.377 0.377
    17 3 3.383 0.383
    9 3 3.422 0.422
    14 4 4.425 0.425
    15 4 4.464 0.464
    6 4 4.500 0.500
    5 4 4.695 0.695
    18 4 4.750 0.750
    70 75.357 5.357

    I agree..... a bit sad isn't it...lol

I'm still amazed that the golfers are having heaps of problems on this course.  -1 leading after 2 rounds.

    Only two players under Par.

Players missing 3ft putts. The greens are a nitemare. The guys are having trouble reading the greens.

I tried to work it out.....   maybe the course is too short for em.  Looking at the tree's in the 3rd round....  no wind, maybe a slight breeze...still the players are having heaps of troubles.....lol

Telecast is great... I love the close up, super slo-mo replay of the driver hitting the ball on the tee... the way the ball distorts on impact is incredible
