One thing that has alway surprised me is that fact that there is actually a lateral hazard on the 18th hole of Augusta. We all knew about the water hazards on 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16, but I don't understand why they would make the trees to the right of the 18th a lateral hazard.

The trees on 18 are bordered the 10th, yet on the 10th hole the trees are NOT marked as lateral hazards. Just feel like sharing this interesting but kind of strange fact.

where does it say that the hazard is on the right?

and who says it's not a hazard from the 10th if it is on the right? if it doesn't appear on any hole map for the 10th then it is highly unlikely to be reachable

this will tell you what it is

and this is probably why it's there
