    Hello,

I tiered up to Master with a mere 150+ ranked rounds.

It seems I am increasing Tiers, quite fast actually, while barely scratching Par here.

Tons of bogeys, doubles, triples. Several times over.

My averages seemed to only be lowered during the Clash games I played recently.

I read to believe in the forums that Clash games were not counted towards lowering your averages. Is this correct? I guess not.

Dropping my Average with 10 games of sub par performances during Clash. I did luckily enough hole out a few shots, always nice, but...

I notice that I only get about 140XP give or take during a 9 hole clash game.

Yet if I play a 9 hole ranked round I get about 250XP or there abouts depending on the tally at the end of the game.

So it seems that there is a difference here.

Some explanation and not reading it from the forums play book about these Averages and would help me determine how I play this game until I can reach Level 90 and then start playing with decent high end equipment.

As it is, if I was to upgrade now through Level 60- 90o r 100, I would have to take out a 2nd mortgage on my kids.

Yet increasing my Tiers while I sink bogeys not birdies isn't helping folks. Thanks.

I find that before Level 90 there isn't much to buy really. Cash grab.

Very disappointed here at Level 60.

It is a business model...Your going to have a hard time competing w/o upgrading some of your equipment.

A couple things, First find a ball you can afford to stick with that is not a rock ball- there are many affordable options...2nd the only club you have upgraded is the putter and personally I would go back to starter putter and sell the ping putter back to pro shop. Get rid of the hybrid, and carry 3 wedges instead. There should also be someone in your club who can/will help you with all of this.

Look at upgrading to one of these driver perhaps? should last you awhile...

The price is a bit salty on the titleist iron set- but it would last you for quite some time

These 3 wedges would also take you far into your journey

One of these 3 woods could also last you for some time

Clash rounds have always counted as normal ranked rounds and will affect your avg, unless you get the par 3s, par 5s or Bandon dunes courses.

I'll gift you L59 Ping irons if you want them. Those are good clubs. Add some wedges and a driver that's good from the Master tees, and you should be in pretty good shape for quite a while.

Thank you sir for your kind offer GreenLaser.
I have enough credits to purchase that Ping set with Driver woods irons and it’s reasonable and will help as playing as Master I’m not finding much other than roughs from the tees.   Cheers

That set with the L59 Ping irons and the woods is a good buy.  Even if you end up not using the hybrid and going to 3 wedges, it's still a decent purchase. A lot of people like the MAX Spin wedges.  I'll gift you the 64° MAX Spin wedge. See how you like that one.

    Can anyone explain this please?

I know that my rounds played at Champion level have saturated and all I need is to get my average down to 55 or lower.

It is currently 58.68 and slowly (very slowly...) dropping.

So, I just shot a 53 in an 18 holer at Wolf Creek.

I went back to check what my average is and it is STILL 58.68.

    I am stumped.

    Rounding.

While averages are calculated to 3 digits, they're reported to 2 digits. Depending on the score a lower one replaces, your average might only move .005. For example, after a low round your average could (potentially) only have moved from 58.683 to 58.678. Both round to 58.68.

Movement of average can be so slight because it's based on 1,000 rounds.
