I'm new to the game, and would like an area to practice my short game skills. Does that make any sense?

    Yes.

Enter 'driving range', 'putting green' or 'practice area' into the search function on the right of your screen and you will see what I mean.

It sure does and until there is such a thing you can set your own practice up. You're allowed 10 strokes per hole and if you go to the practice mode and select stroke play you'll see the practice option, available at either course (BPB and KIA), and you can set whatever conditions you want.

Hit into and out of sand traps; putt back and forth to learn your putter;drive into the rough to see what it takes to recover then hit back into it to try again. You get the idea-1 18 round has 180 practice shots in it. GL
