Pick Up Ball

  I was watching the recent competition of an WGT Live Series featuring,

  GOLFX3

  FMAGNETS

  YIANNIS19070

  SINISAVRC1.

  On the second extra hole that they played YIANNIS1970 was hitting form the rough and put his 2nd shot into a stream crossing the fariway  (#2 on Kia), resulting in the dreaded "LOST BALL" notification. But then before taking his next shot he opened the left hand menu and he had the option to "PICK UP BALL".

  Am i missing something or is this option only available for the TOP players?

  I believe that option is ONLY available in skins....

  In this context, I believe "pick up ball" means the player acknowledges he or she can't win the hole and therefore just moves on to the next hole without being required to play the current hole out. 

  It doesn't mean pick up the lost ball.
