  They already have, The new version that is now available on Steam will run on any PC as long as it has

  Windows 8  or 10

  Intel core 2 duo or equivalent 

  Graphics: Works with most integrated graphics; Dedicated GPU advised

  256 mb of storage space.

  Not according to Steam, What I put on my post was the system requirements listed on Steam Copied and pasted. 

  I am voicing from experience,  games play fine with windows 7

  This emachines with win7 64bit and a gtx570 GPU works on steam.  Granted I can't play some of the newer games,(requires better CPU  and GPU)

  My old gamer. that quit worked just fine with the 570 and win7 also with the gtx1060 I replaced in it,(due to game requirements, not steam)

  As I couldn"t use the win7 copy on the next gamer I built, now running win10 with the 1060 in it.
