I have been searching for any threads which may lead to getting LS 2000 to work on Win 10

Just out of curiousity, why are you so determined to get 2000 to work? I came up through all of the Links programs from 98 on and 2003 is by far the best of the lot. Was there something in 2000 that made it better?

    +1 and 2003 is $6.95.

Links wont last forever, a lot of challenges to make it work on newer computers with our graphics cards.

Yes they have good people always looking for solutions. I had to make some changes in the registry to make it work on mine. You have to be computer savey on a lot of this stuff.

The game changer for me was installing it outside the program files and it works perfectly now with the 1.07 patch.

We all evolved with the newer versions. From Links 2000 we went to 2001 and then 2003. It's not until you go back as I did, you can see that the older LS series had some major benefits. Here is a quick list of benefits off the top of my head from 2000 over 2003:

    1. Cup physics. VASTLY superior in Links 2000. Best of any golf game by a mile imo.

    2. General game play/physics are better in 2000.

    3. Shadows. 2000 had superior shadows which extend over fairways and greens. 2003 has a shadow with a 12 o'clock sun. In other words, just a little patch of shadow directly under an object. Extended shadows as jn 2000 give courses the 3 dimensional appearance.

    4. If you play tournaments and end in a tie, 2003 you just win. 2000 you go to playoff holes against the AI. Much more fun!

    5. AI golfers in 2000 are superior.

    6. 2000 uses a far simpler season/tournament mode. Much preferred by many people over the Links 2003 version.

Just out of curiosity, if the downloads that were removed point to where I think they point, how is that site able to sell it?

The effort to keep Links alive is the result of some dedicated Links golfers. It doesn't need revenue to survive, just serious golfers that spread the word. It's been going on for over 20 years.  It's not browser golf like this that you can play anywhere on any device, you buy and install it and can only play on the PC it's installed on. :-)

    Yeah, I get that Jim.

What I'm wondering is how can that web site sell it?  Did they purchase the rights from Microsoft or something?

    !@#$%^&*()_+

Microsoft owned the game after they acquired Access Software.

I don't understand how they can sell something they don't own -- legally.  Unless they reached an agreement with Microsoft...?  Or MS just doesn't care...
