Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke will captain holders Europe in the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, United States.

A five-man panel selected the 46-year-old ahead of Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thomas Bjorn of Denmark.

Clarke has won the tournament four times as a player and was a non-playing vice-captain for wins in 2010 and 2012.

And may never return. Most of the newer crop are nothing more than coddled prima donna whimps with awesome swings, much promise, and zero sand or grit...a bunch of peckerwood, momma boy, little whimps.  ~ SP ~

Great news for a  fellow countyman from N ireland - he should make a fantastic captain and I wish him every success in his attempts to retain the trophy

    Good luck DC

Long overdue Darren  is a Gritty Firey Player and he  will put that same Grit and fire into the European Team.
