Has anyone else noticed the driving distance on thsi course doesn't match Kiawiah?  I mean...How come on bethpage (with even tighter cut fairways) my 230 yard driver only does 235 yards with 9-12mph behind me and downhill?  That would easily go 250-255 on the other courses.  I think your engineers screwed up...

longer grass and balls made of silly-putty tend to lose their 'roundness' after you hit them....

    lol.. just grasping here.

some of that has to be the difference in elevation.  If the fairway is 50' below the tee, the ball will fly a little farther but actually impacts the fairway more vertically ... less roll.

Below the tee doesn't always mean downhill.

I think they have it setup to just be harder to play, if you remember when they played the Open there in '02 some of the players could not reach the fairway on some of the holes I am just  thinking that is why

Yes I have found that I don't reach the expected distance with a tail wind, in fact a tail wind seems to make little difference and when appraoching the green and you allow for the wind you will fall short and not make it.
