my current standing is 83.84. Couple of days back i played 18 holes on bethpage black course and scored 77. My standing improved to 81.8. Now today when i started playing, surprisingly, my standing went back to 83.84. How could it happen?

    any answers?

Your scoring average is based upon your best 10 of your last 14 scores.  At this time a 9-hole rounds counts double towards your average.  After shooting your 77 you shot a 43, which for your scoring average is treated as an 86.  That is what drove your average up a few points.  Also keep in mind that every score you shoot knocks your oldest score out of the equation, so there will be times when shooting a score lower than your average raises your average and vice versa.  It all depends on what old score is kicked out and which one replaces it.

Well said Niv.  You should copy and paste that response somewhere for future postings. (If you haven't already)

This may be too difficult to do but I think that there should be a manner in which the 9 hole rounds only count for half a round, maybe WGT could just make the round requirements more, I don't see how a 9 hole round at ST Andrews should count as much as 18 holes at Oakmont.
