I know it has been said before, and I know everyone should check and re-check which club is being used.

But why, would the caddy select a 98yd club when you have 60 yds to the hole and you have a 65 yd club in your bag.

I realize we need to check but the default should be the next highest club to the remaining yardage.

For irons it is almost always right when selecting the next highest club to the yardage and then we can make the change based on wind, etc.

I have been burned by this too many times, and to my disadvantage after a view brown sodas, but the fact remains, why even let it happen.

    cheers

Having raised a similar issue with the automatic aiming, it was pointed out to me by wiser heads that I should ignore the caddy suggestions anyway. The point is to double-check all aspects of every single shot (club selection, wind, elevation, aim, roll and slope etc. + zooming in on the landing area). That's the best habit and can save you a few strokes on every round.

    Enjoy.
