Chiptowin1: WGT seams to constantly match me up with way better players who have sub 67 rounds making it very difficult to win a game when my average is 72.
Here is something I noticed... it is not scientific but an observation. Remember coin games are random match ups based on who enters the room to a certain extent. It is not that WGT is trying to give you tougher match ups.
As noted, playing the 10k room during a Showdown event, will also significantly enhance the chance of being matched up against higher tier and better players... because WGT puts the Veteran group into that coin room so you will see high level coin game specialist playing 10k coin games because they are forced to by the structure of the event.
When I was starting out, I seemed to notice certain time frames during the day seemed to give tougher match ups than others. If I got on to play coin games during mid day for some reason, I may encounter more coin room specialist for my time zone but if I got on late at night, I seemed to get a slightly different group of people and those match ups tended to be easier for me.
If people are creatures of habit and you are regularly playing WGT at the same time, maybe you are playing during peak playing sessions of some highly active mobile TW clubs and that results in tougher match ups in general.
It was just an observation, but something you may consider trying.
Chiptowin1: WGT just changed my ranking to master level
I noticed that when I checked out your profile and my guess is... you were promoted based on your coin room activity / success but also the level progression you have made. There appear to be some new promotion criteria that WGT is using to promote coin room players especially those who don't play ranked rounds because there were some players getting beyond L100 without being promoted getting high end gear and playing off the forward tee boxes.
I don't know how it all works, but they did put something in place based on observation of a number of people.
Chiptowin1: if I play in Chelsea players there are complaining that I should be playing a higher division because they are pros or amateurs
Do what is best for you and your coin bankroll! -- if it comes to it, turn off chat to play in the room you are comfortable in.
Be pleasant, and ask for tips from the better players, especially on things you may struggle with... you might be surprised and they may even forfeit the match to help you out... or just happen to miss hit an approach. Who knows with these crazy meters sometimes.
