  Recommended reading:

  The Blank Slate by Steven Pinker...The author makes the case against three foundations of modern thought:  the tabula rasa (empiricism), the Noble Savage (romanticism), and the Ghost in the Machine (dualism).

  Descartes' Error by Antonio Damasio...The author addresses mind/body dualism and points out the fallacy of "Cogito ergo sum."

  Consciousness Explained by Daniel Dennett...The title speaks for itself.  Of note is Dennet's theory of "nested cranes" (as opposed to skyhooks) as an explanation for how we developed consciousness.

  I've never seen him Allie. I can't imagine why LOL

  Apropos as any thing, can possibly be. 

  I laughed hardily at both of those though, Funny is a complete understatement for this guy. He knows exactly what he's doing & to whom he is doing it to.

  I am inexplicably drawn in by his tie. Looks like some old piece of rawhide, he just slung over his neck at the last moment. Seems to have no end to it

  I keep looking for it,, mwaahahaha

  He plays that tie, like Mozart plays the piano....
