A punch is a great way to achieve success out of the rough.   Around the green I usually use a wedge and a full shot type.

How much power is something you will have to get a "feel" for.

This about putts--I read a putt,,,that barely breaks,,,hit the meter square--the putt hooks,,,now we are talking very fast greens--I swear what I read once doesn't apply the second time--so funky--you don't read--you guess

really the rough depends on the course, sometimes you can club up and get decent distance , other times you Cant club up because you will get less distance the more you club up. Soooo  needless to say  you have to try different things on all the courses and remember what works on each.

the WGT mantra,   Practice Practice Practice..................

A rough method that will get you close enough to fine tune....

For 20-25% rough take what the caddie suggests and add 1/2 club. For 30-40% add a whole club and for 40-50% add 2 clubs. 50-60 or worse means you're in trouble-get back into the fairway (make sure you re-aim.)  GL

LMAO-Just ask Tiger. He couldn't hit the fairways at WS and paid for it by spending too much time in what looked like 50-60% or worse rough.

No he got lucky on some holes where he missed his drives into the crowd and the stomped down fescue lol
