I tried lowering "the spin dot" all the way down on the GI-D ball in 20-25% rough to see if I could get more backspin than normal from that lie, and all it did was take yardage off the shot. I was using a 60W from 20-80yds out.

I kinda figured that would happen, but was wondering if anybody else has managed to get BS with one of the new "superspin balls" from a lie in the rough or sand (or with any other ball/club combo, for that matter)?

Just curious if there's a "slice" technique that I'm missing that might work from problem lies... sorta like the flop, but a shot that would slow the ball on the green.

Heh-heh! Guess not! If there was, it surely oughta be patented! lol! :^)

So far, the only way I've found to limit roll, either when landing in the fairway, or on the green (excluding regular backspin), is to aim into the wind, whether right, left, head, or tail.

    Using wedges and shorter irons:

Headwind and Tailwinds: I use "the dot" on the ball (HW-topspin/TW-backspin)

WInd from the left: I click the meter early (before the center line)

Wind from the right: I click the meter late (after the center-line)

Of course, my aim with the triangle needs to be adjusted accordingly, pre-shot.
