When WGT started it was established that the player with the lower ranking (hack, amateur, pro, master) would tee off from a shorter distance. According to WGT it was their way of establishing a handicap.

My son is a pro and I am a master. We have played 8 match play rounds. Each of us has won 4 times. And yet he has more points than me (i.e., the Pro is rewarded for beating the Master with extra points).

I don't mind losing to my son (we have a lot of fun playing together), but it should be brought to your attention that the current scoring system is a double handicap.
