  Hi - I think I am a fast player - I play a RG in about 13 minutes. I know I am making a lot of mistakes specially when it comes to distance control as I am just guessing the distance setting, I am not really taking a good look at my shots - I am just wondering - how long does it take you guys to play a really good round?

  hi

  it depends... in my time i could have gone sub 60 inside 25 min... i know bollox posted 56 last night in 25 min but other times he may take 40 min.

  then again, some folks take 75 seconds per shot no matter if it's a tee shot or a .2ft putt

  Play at your own pace.  Make a shot that you are comfortable with.  Don't worry about the time.

  I play roughly 9 hole RG 20 - 25 mins.

  Depends on how many RG`s I plan on playing on that day.

  (no restarts or try again in RG`s or credit tournaments may as well take your time & make the most of it)

  I play for fun and do not care to much about the credits - on the other hand I wold like to shoot better than I do - guess I should take more time. On the other hand as I am not taking notes and I do not calculate the effective yardage it will most probably not help a lot taking more time. Well it might take away the three supid strategic mistakes I do per round.

  What is the routine that you use?
   - do you always look at the reverse angle?
   - what kind of notes do you take/need?
   - do you take pratice swings?

  this is a great game - I am playing for about a year and there are about 100 questions I have (not counting the ones that I do not even know about). Thanks WGT for this. It is just tough to find a playing partner that you can learn from.

  If your not on the clock, take as long as you like, just to get things right. When on the clock I would play a shot in about 20secs, maybe a bit longer if it's a tough putt. R/Go's, not sure, but around 15-20 min mark. for a 9 hole game.

  I find the most important notes one should take.

  Determine how much carry and roll you have with each iron in low wind conditions with full and neutral backspin.  Neutral would be default spin.

  It takes alot of time as each club behaves differently, and the wind effects are also different for each club. 

  As you get to know your clubs especially your irons, varying the amount of spin will also impact carry and roll.   This game is not without practice and time.

  Thus, when you are playing by yourself use the replay feature alot.

  Reverse view and forward views are a great tool.  Use them.

  I tend to take twice as long over a putt or a chip than i do any other shot because after all that is where your good scoring will come from. I always look from the back of a putt or chip because i think this is a truer reading of how the green breaks.

  I normally take around 30mins to play a 9hole ready-go.

  I take more time on approaches, usually use the zoom, so I can get closer and make more birdies:), or eagles:D.

  I look at the reverse view on any putt outside 3 feet.  On any putt outside 7.5 feet, I check the track of the putt for when grade or elevation changes occur.  I play quickly from tee to green, but slower when on the greens.  Since I play pretty much everything by feel (using curves and spins) rather than by ding, except my tee shots, it takes me still less time than a person who uses the cursor and aims for the ding.

  It saddens me to know that the game is designed to make my method less effective.
