It has been very anoying that the greens react so realisticly but from a fairway aproach, even with your zoom feature, you can not see the slopes and hills of the green. Makes where to land your shot a somewhat of a guess unless you have an intamate knowledge of the green.

since the pin placements never change, such knowledge of the greens will soon be yours.

I think a better question is why does it always zoom out to the blimp view when you hole a shot?  It would be nice to be able to see it actually go in!

Switch to a pitch shot and drag your aimer to the green.  You'll be able to see the grid on the green, albeit from a distance.  Don't forget to switch back to your normal shot when you're done.

Select :putt"  and it will give you a better view of the green contours than if you use the grid that will appear when you select "pitch, chip, flop".

Using the putter is a good tip too, but it only works when you're within 150ft of the green.  If you are any farther away than that you'll need to use the pitch/chip to display the grid.
