    When chipping flat.  Which direction applies?

    If you're thinking the shot is like the flop where it comes out off center it doesn't. Treat your pitches and chips as straight shots and trying to aim them by missing is not a good thing to do. That severely affects the accuracy.

    The flop comes out to the right because of how you lay the club down on its back. The angle of the club to the shaft comes into play and the ball goes to the right. With chips and pitches this angle doesn't come into play because the club is held straight up. Spin will affect these shots too.

    Jim is right. Only flop (from the main 3) doesn't fly straight.
