Can someone please tell me why that on oakmont's greens...coming up hill i always come up short even on tournament greens...they are so fast going down....then when you use the same percentage coming up...it freakin stops before the hole.
Your uphill putts are going to slow down faster than the downhill ones speed up. One of the intangibles that makes Oakmont putting so hard is knowing how much momentum is going to affect the downhill putts just like knowing how much harder you have to hit it going the other way.
If it is for example 18 feet uphill then (18 divide with 3) it's going to be 6 yards extra, so uphill you need to add yardage, and subtract for downhill, and also with the trajectory of downhill, ball will bounce more/further.
