No, Scott. Game's resolution are fixed. If you keep the aspect ratio (in window mode) from your GPU, everything will be shown to its native resolution and AR.

Okay. Can I ask you then what the resolution of your monitor is and also the resolution options that are availble in the game settings for you?

    My monitor's native resolution is 1920 x 1080.

    Game's options are:

    1024 x 768

    1360 x 768 (who thought of that???)

    1366 x 768

    1920 x 1080

    1920 x 1200

Both in window and fullscreen mode. However in fullscreen mode, your monitor or the GPU will do the upscaling.

That's the same for me. Except my monitor is 1920 x 1200, which is why I thought the game might be able to 'see' my monitor's resolution as that is the biggest option available in the game.

    Thanks Yiannis.  ; )

I play WGT 1366x768 to get the wider ding line. lol  There are other games I play that support this format. It provides the equivalent of two 27 inch monitors without lines or gaps.

If you ever wanted to watch 4K movies you can't do it on 1920x1080.

The best part is Costco has a 90 day no questions asked return policy, so I'm not married to it.

I wouldn't mind placing a bet on you not returning it Du, unless it's broken of course.

And you can always ask me for a custom resolution solution if you want WGT a little larger.  ; )

    1. Playing 1366 x 768 or 1920 x 1080 or any other resolution 16:9 (16:10), you do exactly the opposite of what you are after. The ding line is more narrow not wider. If you want a wider ding line the only resolution to play is 1024 x 768 or custom resolutions as Scott mentioned before.

    2. Of course you can watch 4K movies on a 1920 x 1080 monitor. The content will be downscaled to monitor's native resolution. If you use an external player like a Blu Ray and feed the monitor, check that your HDMI supports 4K resolutions at 60 Hz (i don't say display port cause usually BD do not provide one). The HDR is a bitter bitter story which is better leaving out of the frame.

If we're taking odds, I'm betting to pester you a few times at least. ha

Monitor is due in 5-6 days, but we will have guests staying with us about the same time, so not sure when it will be up and running. You'll likely be the first to know though. ;)

Might be good timing for guests Du, you may need the extra lifting power to mount the beast onto the stand.  8 )

So don't believe my eyes, only what you tell me? Playing 1366 gives me a ding line 3x that of 1920. I see that because I can ding early, ding perfect, or ding late. When I ding early, I can still see ding line to the right the meter line. Perfect ding obscures the ding line, late ding leaves part of ding line to the left of the meter line.  At 1920 it's ding or nothing.

Your point of 1024 providing the best ding line is correct of course, but I prefer to enjoy full screen.

If you're downscaling, you're not watching native 4K video. Symantecs.

The unit only weighs 25.5 lbs and the stand is 6.5 lbs. I can remember 400 lb TV's. Matter of fact I have one of the largest tube hdtv's Sony made in the garage. Still works great but it took two and half men to put it up and no, Charlie Sheen wasn't here. :)
