Leveled up today & got the opportunity to freerent the New Callaway irons, Rouge L97. They are replacing the Steelheads, only difference is a 0.2 slower meter, too early to say anything about their overall performance.

New Rouge woods as well, replacing the Fusions.

So, the old Fusion and Steelheads have been derated from 4.5 to 4.2?  They used to be the same as the MD wedges.  No wonder I thought my meter seemed faster...

Yep, I was wrong.  It’s not unusual.  Just as well I didn’t tee off completely and make a real goose of myself. I’m still annoyed though.  It was only a month ago I bought mine, now there are shiny new ones out!  *sigh*

The Apex L100 also have been replace by Callaway Rogue Pro.

Specwise they seem to be the same except for 0.3 slower meter.

I wish they would have been available during free rental at fathersday.

They also removed the Big Bertha 3 woods as well . I noticed that the new L 89 & 97 3 wood have the same specs dont know why . Guess its time for an upgrade and some new eye candy . Will wait for a moment just in case there are any bugs which is the standard norm .

Basically Callaway has upgraded their top driver, wood and irons with a slightly slower meter so they are almost the same meterspeed as their wedges. I certainly don’t have the credits to upgrade mine because of 0.2 slower meter. Lol
